Why did you enter the Awards?

Alfa has proudly held Investors in People accreditation since 2003. We always strive to ‘make work better’ but also value the robust assessment process that Investors in People has in place.

It’s not just a badge to stick on our website – it’s acknowledgment that we’re doing the right things and output from assessments has proved extremely helpful in shaping plans and identifying areas for improvement.

 What was the key point of your entry?

It means the world to us to achieve gold status this year. And to learn that we’ve been placed in the Top 20 is the icing on the cake! Writing our submission this year made us extremely proud to have so much to say and so many initiatives in action for making Alfa an even better place to work. 

What’s really important to us is our strong culture and the feeling of support and care that we foster at Alfa; never more important than during and after the pandemic years, with the challenges that we have all faced. So we are delighted that our latest Pulse survey results show us that we currently have the highest engagement levels we’ve ever seen.

We entered the awards as we genuinely feel the progress we’ve made, particularly around Diversity and Inclusion, is something to shout about. One of our four values is ‘create a positive impact’ and that’s something we know we are doing both internally and outside of Alfa. Winning this award would be independent verification of our achievements, would be an amazing thing to celebrate internally and would be a great tool to attract future colleagues to the Alfa family.

What would it mean to you to win?

Even if we don’t win, it’s been a real buzz to take part and we look forward to celebrating all the winners at the awards ceremony!
