North Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership, Dirrans Centre – Finalist Case Study
Why did you enter The Investors in People Awards 2020?
Since 2005, being assessed against the Investors in People framework has provided a continuing challenge to keep improving our performance, striving to be the best and offering a leading-edge service to those we support.
Every Investors in People award achieved has encouraged our team and given each member the confidence to develop themselves to reach high performance for themselves and the Service.
We need to keep evolving, to remain a high achieving and integral part of the social care partnership and entering The Investors in People Awards 2020 encourages us to do that.
You’ve been announced as a Finalist – what does that mean to you and your people.
Thinking differently, doing things better is key to how we work and it is a source of great satisfaction, professional and personal pride for all of us at the Dirrans Centre to reach the final of the Employer of the Year Award.
Reaching the final is fantastic recognition of how the way we develop our people has released the flexibility and creativity of each member. We are adaptable to changing circumstances, encourage people to take responsibility and have a culture of caring for our staff.
What would you say is the stand–out point of your entry?
Our stand-out point is the adaptability and preparedness of the team to meet new challenges in an ever-changing environment. In 2019 a collaborative and partnership approach, with local GPs, has improved the quality of service provision, enhanced the progression of service users and giving quantifiable improvements in performance. This new work will sustain the service for many years to come.
Our well-developed culture of innovation, reflective practice, and skills development facilitate these achievements. Values encourages each team member to focus on delivering the best possible support to our service users.
What would it mean to win?
It would be a tremendous compliment to the approach we take in delivering our rehabilitation services. Recognising the high performance of the team within the Dirrans Centre and the service offered to the local community.
We would share it with all our stakeholders, encouraging new partnerships and new ways to work. Knowing that our passion, focus and inspiration has been recognized at such a prestigious level gives us the determination to continue our upward journey to be the best we can be.
