BDHT – Finalist Case Study
The CEO of BDHT decided to put the questions to people in the business, as Investors in People is all about people and the collective desire to make work better!
Why did you enter The Investors in People Awards 2020? Quite simply because we are proud of our business and our people. This gives us a chance to shout (just a little) about it. Emma Morris – Head of HR
You’ve been announced as a Finalist – what does that mean to you and your people? All the way through this pandemic my gas engineers have kept on going providing the essential repairs needed by our customers (of which many are elderly and vulnerable) to their heating and hot water systems. We have not let anyone down so this is a turbo charger for the morale of my team. Claire Chapman – Gas Repairs Manager
What would you say is the stand out point in your entry? bdht always puts inclusivity and people engagement at the centre of what we do. So when there is a business challenge this is shared across the organisation in a transparent way with people encouraged to feed into options and solutions. We call this “Team Scrums”. This approach protects the business during difficult times and results in better outcomes. Debbie Paul – Business Improvement Manager
What would it mean to win? It actually feels like winning is important to us right now in order to recognise the dedication, passion and caring approach for customers shown by our people over the very challenging last 6 months. I have come to expect this of our people, but it just seems to have been elevated recently to a new level. Shirley Robinson – Executive Support Manager
