Scalford Court Care Home – Finalist Case Study
Why did you enter The Investors in People Awards 2020?
Having been affiliated with Investors in People for several years, we were delighted when we were identified as one of the top 20 Gold organisations and didn’t want to turn down the opportunity to enter the Employer of the Year award as we feel that Investors in People’s criteria has helped to shape the way in which our organisation runs. We are incredibly proud of our people, who work tirelessly to provide excellent care to our residents, and therefore receiving recognition of their hard work would be a huge morale boost, especially during these uncertain times.
You’ve been announced as a Finalist – what does that mean to you and your people?
To be announced as a finalist has been a hugely proud moment for our organisation. This year has been particularly difficult, and our people have been under an unprecedented amount of pressure due to the unavoidable changes within the way that we are having to work. Our people have continued to work in an effective and thorough manner and so it is fantastic that this has been seen and recognised by Investors in People.
What would you say is the stand our point in your entry?
Our stand out point in our entry would be how our whole team work incredibly hard each day to fulfil our motto of “Care, Support and Inspire”, something which relates to not just our residents but how our people interact with each other. With everyone working together, successfully as a team, it allows our organisation to provide the best possible care to our residents.
What would it mean to win?
As an industry, care homes have not always received the most positive press, particularly in more recent years. To win this award would not only give a huge morale boost to our team, but would also have a hugely positive effect on other organisations within our industry, and hopefully inspire us all to work together to continue to provide the best care for our residents.
